Amanda Canizales joined Neurology Associates in June 2022 with more than a decade of nursing experience in diverse settings. At Neurology Associates, Amanda sees follow-up patients and has a particular soft spot for people living with ALS.
“I have worked as an ALS clinic nurse and fell in love with ALS patients,” Amanda says. “I know it is on the rare side to see in clinic but that is one of my true passions.”
Of course, regardless of a patient’s condition, Amanda aims to help people feel their best and achieve better quality of life.
“I love when I get to see patients improve with their condition, whether that be with the help of medication, injections, or a multidisciplinary approach,” she says.
Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Northern Arizona University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from NAU as well. Amanda is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys running (with many half-marathons under her belt), hiking, and mountain biking. She and her husband have two dogs and a cat.
Amanda sees patients in our Mesa, AZ clinic.
Importantly, even though the COVID-19 pandemic has waned, Amanda is able to see some patients over telehealth video. Visit our Telehealth page for details and FAQs.
