Arizona Alzheimer’s Association Chapter Hosting Virtual Event on Dec. 14

Updated: Jul 15

The 90-minute session will focus on how Alzheimer’s affects women, in particular

The Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting a virtual event next week that’s likely to interest a number of Neurology Associates patients and their families.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 13 million women in America either live with or care for someone who has Alzheimer’s. So, the organization’s Arizona group is taking 90 minutes to focus on the impact of this rampant form of dementia on women, in specific. The association says women make up more than 60 percent of caregivers, and a significant portion have had to stop working to either become caregivers or because caregiving grew too burdensome.

“Women Conquer ALZ” will feature takeaways from recent scientific research, as well as stories of hope, and education and other resources.

The live virtual event will start at 2 p.m. Arizona time on Wednesday, Dec. 14. It will run until 3:30 p.m. Click here to register.

Meanwhile, each of Neurology Associate’s neurologists and several of our other practitioners treat dementia, including Alzheimer’s. If you’re concerned about yourself or a family member, call to make an appointment at either our Chandler or Mesa clinic.
