New (and Returning!) Faces at Neurology Associates

Neurology Associates Neuroscience Center is growing! That means we have even more providers at both our Chandler and Mesa clinics to help patients facing neurological conditions.


To achieve those goals, we have added the following doctors and medical professionals:


Dr. Ming-Jai Liu. Dr. Liu, Board-Certified neurologist, joined Neurology Associates Mesa in March 2022. He earned his medical degree in 2008 from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, then completed an Internal Medicine internship in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Liu followed that with a fellowship in movement disorders at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. During that time, Dr. Liu earned the designation as Fellow of the Evelyn Kossak Movement Disorder Endowment from 2013-2015. Read more about Dr. Liu.


Dr. Hossam Alhabach. Longtime Neurology Associates patients may recognize Dr. Alhabach’s name. Dr. Alhabach has come back to Neurology Associates after a couple years away. He is seeing patients at our Mesa facility. Dr. Alhabach, Board-Certified neurologist, earned his degree from the University of Tichreen Faculty of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Alhabach is trained in EEG (Electroencephalogram) and EMG (Electromyography). He is passionate about providing quality diagnostics and treatment for all of his neurology patients.


Arshad Aziz, PA-C. Arshad Aziz, PA-C, came to Neurology Associates Neuroscience Center in February 2022 with extensive experience in medicine, public health, and academia. A physician assistant specializing in neurology since 2016, Arshad now brings his vast knowledge to Neurology Associates. Arshad says he is motivated by a strong passion for medicine and helping people. Arshad holds three degrees: a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University; a Master of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma; and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He worked as an epidemiologist for eight years at the Arizona Department of Health Services. Read more about Arshad.


Jean Baker, NP. Jeannette (Jean) Baker, credentialed nurse practitioner, joined Neurology Associates in March 2022 with thirty years’ experience. Since 2012, Jean has focused on movement disorders; most of her patients have dealt with Parkinson’s disease. Jean brings this expertise to patients at Neurology Associates Mesa, where she aims to make patients and their families as comfortable as possible. She is a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. Read more about Jean.


Amanda Canizales, FNP. Amanda Canizales, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, joined Neurology Associates in June 2022 with more than a decade of nursing experience in diverse settings. At Neurology Associates, Amanda sees follow-up patients and has a particular soft spot for people living with ALS. Of course, regardless of a patient’s condition, Amanda aims to help people feel their best and achieve better quality of life. Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Northern Arizona University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from NAU as well. Amanda is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Read more about Amanda.
